Remember, the Pastor isn't the only one who works on Sundays! If you have a special talent or just want to meet new friends, there are many ways for you to serve our Lord during our weekly worship activities.

Sing, Ring, Play

SING

The Adult Choir meets on Thursday from 7pm to 9pm in the church balcony. We are a Soprano/Alto/Tenor/Bass volunteer choir. We sing several times a month and for special services. No audition is required.

RING

The Adult Handbell Choir meets on Wednesdays from 7pm to 9pm in the church balcony. We are a volunteer two to five octave choir. No previous experience required. All are welcome. We play several times a quarter and for special services. The bellchoir is directed by Karen Harwood.

PLAY

We welcome musicians who would like to help augment our worship music. If you can sing or play an instrument and are interested in volunteering for a solo, duet, or group performance, please contact Sonja Kahler. ALL ages and skill levels are welcome.

Get Involved

Acolytes - As an Acolyte, your Junior or Senior High student will have the rewarding opportunity to participate in weekly services by attending the Pastor.

Adult Choir - Our choir needs that special something that only you can offer -- your voice! Please join us in singing praise to God during worship services.

Handbell Choir - Let your praises ring! For those who wish to participate "instrumentally" in services, the Handbell Choir offers a unique and beautiful alternative. Prior musical talent is not necessary.

Altar Guild - The Altar Guild provides you with a unique opportunity to serve our Lord and the congregation by preparing the church altar for church services and communion. Members of the Altar Guild team typically serve for one month a year in teams of two or three.

Ushers - Just as Paul commanded that we worship in an orderly manner, you have the opportunity to provide assistance and direction to the congregation during weekly services as a member of the Ushers.

Greeters - A warm handshake, friendly smile, and kind word are the best ways to start the day. As a member of the Greeters, you'll have the opportunity to spread this joy following worship services.

Readers - Serving as a reader gives you the opportunity to share God's word as part of the worship.

If you are interested in serving in any of the ministries listed above please contact the church office and we will gladly put you in contact with the committee coordinator.

PrimeTimers

A wonderful group of folks who are young at heart! We gather once a month for lunch and a special activity. Sometimes we meet at Our Savior, sometimes we go out for lunch or a show. If you are interested in joining us please call the church office for details on our upcoming events.

Community Service Opportunities

At Our Savior, we believe that we must love and serve others just as Jesus Christ loved and served. Join us in helping members of our own "family" as well as those who are less fortunate.

Meals on Wheels - Join other members of our congregation in delivering meals on the first Friday of each month to the elderly and shut-ins. Contact the church office if you would like to be a member of our team

ASPAN Homeless Bagged Meal Program - Every FOURTH Monday we package and deliver bagged meals for the homeless in Arlington County. Volunteers are needed to help with making and delivering the meals. Please contact the church office if you would like to be a member of our team.

Arlington Food Assistance Center - By making a food or cash donation in our church foyer, you can help feed a hungry family in Arlington County.

Women's Breakfast

The women of the church meet at 9 AM on the third Wednesday of each month for about an hour at the City Diner on Leesburg Pike. It’s a time for food and fellowship, a great opportunity to get to know other members of the congregation. Have a cup of coffee or a hearty breakfast. Join us for a pleasant break from your normal morning routine and some good conversation.

Coffee

Do you enjoy the coffee and snacks after worship?

We are looking for volunteers to host Fellowship Hour following the 8:15AM and 11:00AM services. Those hosting after 8:15 would prepare the coffee/tea and provide a light snack (does not need to be elaborate or homemade). Those hosting after 11:00 would provide a light snack and clean-up the coffee and tea pots. If you have questions or are new to hosting and would like to team up with a seasoned coffee hour host contact Lori Bodling (703) 892-4846.
